CLIO Pocket 2.12 x64 for macOS exits from its beta state and allows any customer, using CLIO Pocket 2 on an Apple machine, to install and use the software.
Since its inception CLIO Pocket has been designed as a multi-platform device, targeting both Windows and Apple machines. We actively followed the progress of Windows and OS X/macOS with timely releases to keep the product updated to the latest technologies. The recent steer of Apple roadmap, which first dropped support of 32 bit Carbon framework, then followed by the adoption of Apple Silicon processors needed an extra effort on our side. This led to the release during 2020 of CLIO Pocket 2.12 x64 for macOS under a beta testing program.
We were also able to successfully test CLIO Pocket 2.12 x64 under Apple Silicon M1 Macs using Rosetta 2 AOT translation and macOS 11.6 Big Sur.
|Intel Silicon||OS X 10.5 up to macOS 10.14||CLIO Pocket 2.11 (32 bit)|
|Intel Silicon||macOS 10.15 Catalina and macOS 11 Big Sur||CLIO Pocket 2.12×64|
|Apple Silicon M1||macOS 11 Big Sur (through Rosetta 2)||CLIO Pocket 2.12×64|
We will keep working in the next months on a native version of CLIO Pocket application specific to Apple Silicon Macs aarch64 architecture. At the moment it is possible to use CLIO Pocket 2.12 x64 on an Apple Silicon Mac using Rosetta 2 (https://support.apple.com/it-it/HT211861). In our tests the translated code performed flawlessly.
